Boeing is by far the largest foreign OEM in terms of sourcing from India, with over $1 billion annually through its large and growing network of 300+ supplier partners, with over 25 percent Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), that are an integral part of our global supply base. India plays a critical role in Boeing's global supply chain network, with its unique ability to localize maintenance services, industry capabilities, and a technically qualified workforce.
Our joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL), Tata Boeing Aerospace Limited (TBAL) in Hyderabad, is a state-of-the-art facility that showcases our commitment to Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. TBAL manufactures aero-structures for Boeing's AH-64 Apache helicopter, including fuselages, secondary structures, and vertical spar boxes for customers worldwide, including the U.S. Army. More than 210 fuselages have been delivered by TBAL, with over 90% of the parts used manufactured in India, sourced from over 100 MSME suppliers. TBAL also manufactures the vertical fin structure for the Boeing 737 aircraft.
Boeing's growing network of over 300 supplier partners in India is an integral part of the global supply base. These Indian companies manufacture and export systems and components for some of Boeing's most advanced products worldwide. Our Indian supplier partners are manufacturing critical systems and components, including aerostructures, wire harness, composites, forgings, avionics mission systems and ground support equipment, for some of Boeing’s most advanced commercial and defence aircraft.
As part of its drive to bring the best of Boeing to India, Boeing collaborates with industrial suppliers on lean manufacturing techniques, program management, supplier management best practices and specialized training. Boeing’s industrial partners are raising the bar to deliver world-class quality and productivity as they become an important part of the company’s global supply chain.
